What a Wonderful Summer!

We have had a wonderful summer, my only regret is that it has to end. We have spent every minute possible with Spencer, especially me, since I am having to go back to work full time in just a week! My heart breaks open every time I think about it but God will get me through it and give me the strength to make the best of it! Spencer is growing up so fast. He is talking up a storm and is very strong-willed. It can be very trying at times but he is such a joy that it doesn't even bother us. We have spent alot of time at the beach, have gone to parks, Bounce U, visited with friends and family and spoiled me rotten. I have completed our beach book and will post that, as well as some of the pictures from his 18 month old photo shoot by Michelle Bolton!

Beach Trip!

Spencer, Josh and myself have enjoyed some wonderful time at the beach these past two weeks! We have had great weather, spent some great time with family and friends, went shopping and played on the beach! Spencer has really taken to the beach and loves to catch baby crabs and seashells! We are very blessed to be able to spend our summers with our family and so much time with Spencer! Here are a few pictures. I will post the rest on our shutterly share site. 18 month checkup!

It's hard to believe that our little man is 18 months old! Time has gone by so fast. Spencer is talking up a storm. He says so many things including "I'm busy, I'm eating, please, thankyou, he knows all of his close family members name. Although Corey is officially Doo Doo!!! He communicates so well that even his doctor today commented on his great vocabulary and said that he could tell we have have been working with him. As far as his stats go, he weighed 29.96(90%), his head was 19.75(95%) and his height was 32 inches( 65%). He did great with his shots as well. We are looking forward to spending some time at the beach together. I will post some pictures up as soon as I get a chance. I have realized that with a 18 month old there is not alot of personal time!!! But I am loving every minute of it!

Summer is Coming!

I know it has been way to long since I have posted but I have been super busy with the end of school, Spencer, cheerleading started back up and of course, spending time with Josh. We had a wonderful Memorial Day spending it with friends and family and we also have celebrated Josh's 28th birthday! Spencer is nearly 18 months old and we cannot believe it! We are about to move him into a toddler bed and maybe thinking about potty training him. He is going through a mommy phase, which I love but it can be very frustrating, when Josh is doing nothing and I am busy but yet, Josh won't do. It has to be me. Only me. Always me. I know one of these days I will look back and cherish every moment of Spencer being a mommy's boy but right now, I wish he would spend more time with Josh and I know Josh does too. We are looking forward to summer. This year we get to spend two weeks at the beach and we are hoping for some better sleeping patterns. Spencer has really gotten alot taller in the past few months and is staying around 29 pounds. We still have our little line backer. It is kinda funny. Every week that Spencer gets older, the more times people ask us when we are having another one. We have talked about it but right now we are so happy and so content with our family, that we are not wanting to change that. And to be a little honest and selfish, I am not ready to share Spencer at all!!!

Are Cribs for Mommy's Too?

This is a glimpse into my life the past few days...

Spencer had to be put in steriods for his breathing problems. The only problem is is that he hasn't been sleeping good. We have had nights where he has been awake until 1130 and he wakes up very early . Steriods do tend to cause sleeplessness and insomnia, which we have been seeing full force. So Tuesday night, Spencer decides to go to bed at eight, which was great! However, he woke up at 10 ready to play. Therefore we had to stay up with him, mainly me, so Josh could get some sleep for work and plus he only wanted me and not his daddy, until 230, when he finally feel asleep. Good, right? NOPE! He wanted me to hold him the entire time. So we ended up sleeping on the couch and eventually I moved to the floor. So all in all, I got about two hours worth of sleep. Can it get much worse, YES!!

Last night, started out the exact same way, except now Josh and I are argueing because we are frustrated and tired and again Spencer only will let me put him to sleep. So I deal with the fact that it is probably going to be another sleepless night. I get Spencer to sleep on the recliner and that works for a little while but then my neck starts hurting so I move to the couch, which goes fairly well. He is so asleep that I decide to try to put him in his crib. As soon as he is laid down he wakes up crying, so what do I do? I jump in the crib with him. Cuddle up in a fetal position and put him back to sleep. So there I am, stuck in his crib. Everytime I try to get out, he wakes up looking for me. So I decide to sleep there and have Josh bring me a pillow. After about an hour, I am still awake because cribs are not made for mommies. I slowly work my way out and it works! So I get into bed with my husband after about an hour and a half! Spencer sleeps until 430 and then Josh takes him to the living room and sleeps until the alarm goes off at 6:00. So to answer my question, no cribs are not for Mommies. Hopefully tonight will be better. Yesterday was his last day on the roids(funny sounding), so maybe things will get back to normal soon! I hope I am not the only mom who has done this!

Day at the Park

I know it has been forever since I have posted but we have been so busy, we have barely had time to breath. My cheerleading squad is gearing up for Nationals this weekend, we are finishing our basement, Josh has been busy with his Assistant Atheltic duties and of course, Spencer has kept us very involved. He is into absolutly everything and I mean toilets, trashcans, the dryer (you get the picture). He has learned to climb upstairs, a brand new worry for us and is fast learning how to go down them. Spencer now thinks that he can fly and has tried to prove this point quite a few times, and he has a new found interest in Piper. He has also had some health issues over the past week or so. He had another ear infection and when the doctors listened to his lungs, they heard wheezing, so we have had to adminster breathing treatments. Luckily, we are not have to use a Nebolizer(I really don't think I spelled this right) but the inhaler is bad enough. He seems to be feeling better but it is the worst thing in the world when your baby is sick. He weighs around 29 pounds and is starting to lose his cute little belly and chubby legs. Spencer can say so many words now, including chicken, mommie, Papal, light, ball(a favorite), as well as peepee(and points between his legs). We are also going to start potty training in the next month or so. Spencer has gotten very efficient at telling us when he has poop in his pants, so we bought him an Elmo toilet and figured we would give it a go! We will keep you updated.

Well, January has come and gone so fast! We have been super busy with school getting started back up and keeping up with Spencer. I had my 25 birthday and Josh took me out for an adult night. He gave me a wonderful printer for my birthday, which I am enjoyed greatly! Spencer is doing wonderful, as always. He is walking up a storm and trying new words all the time. He is now up to saying DaDa(his favorite), MaMa, Piper, Ball, Pops, Papal, More, Pease( which is supposed to be please), help(or his form of help) and BaBa(bottle). He has also learned sign language for help, milk, thankyou, more, please, and drink. We are currently working on Love! He is the joy of our world! Everything is centered around him. We are almost getting full nights of sleep every night! It will not be long before we have to move him to the toddler bed because he is going to start crawling out of his crib any day now. We have down lots of fun things this month, including The Children's Museum, Carolina basketball game and Bounce U! I am entertaining the notion of going back full time next year, which makes me said but we have to save more money, if we ever want a second baby! We also found out the Jennifer is having a little boy, so we don't have to worry about Spencer being the only boy on girls trips! Enjoy the pics!

Our Wonderful Christmas!

Our Christmas this year was a blast. Josh and I loved playing Santa for Spencer and he really enjoyed opening the presents! However, his favorite was the tissue paper. We were very busy over the holidays traveling from Winston to Yadkinville to Reidsville and to Sanford but we had a great time visiting with our families. Spencer was old enough this year to understand a little about what was going on, instead of just sleeping through the whole thing like he did last year. Spencer received lots of wonderful gifts. He got an alphabet train from Nana and Papa, DVD's from Aunt Amy and Uncle Corey, Thomas the Train ride along from Grandma, along with a portable DVD player. From Grandpa, he received a really cool basketball, football, baseball combo toy.From Santa, he received some Lego's and a sports toy. We gave him a zoo animal toy, a ball popup toy and some DVD's,new pacy's, new lovie and some socks in his stocking!
He is doing so good. He is walking up a storm, starting to try and run a little bit. He has successfully learned 3 signs(more, eat and please) and we are working on "Don't Touch" " Help" and "Thankyou." If anyone out there is contemplating teaching their child sign language I would highly recommend it. We also got Spencer completely off of his morning bottle but are still doing the night one. I mean really, he isn't going to take a bottle for the rest of his life, so what does it matter if he still has one now! As far as New Year's Resolutions go, Spencer's is to sleep through the night consistently! I was so excited when he told me that!

One Year Check Up!

Spencer had his one year old check up today! Boy, I know he felt like a pin cushion. He had to get 4 shots and a finger prick to check to see if his iron was still low. Thankfully, it was not! Today, he weighted 25 pounds and 12 ounces, which is no longer in the 90th percentile, but it is somewhere between 75-90%. His height was 30.5 inches, which was in the 75% and still his head was in the 95% at 19 inches. Dr. Rainey was pleased to see that his weight is slowing down a little bit and his height is catching up with him! And now that he is walking, he will really start to thin out, which is kinda sad because I love all of this rolls. Anyway, he also informed me that I need to ween him from his bottles and formula and transition to whole milk and sippycups. I proceeded to ask him, "How in the ---- was I supposed to do that?" but maybe not in those words but it is what I was thinking. Spencer loves his bottles and it is going to be awful trying to get him to stop taking them first thing in the morning and before he goes to bed but we will tackle it slowly. I think we will start with transitioning him over to whole milk and then once he is taking that slowly get rid of the bottle. Please pray for us as we tackle this endeavor!

We Have a Walker!

Spencer has officially entered the world of the walking! One day he just decided to go for it. He still prefers crawling as his main means of transportation but when prompted by Josh or myself he will walk. Yesterday, he took 10-12 steps around the kitchen. I can't believe my little man is already walking. He will always be my little baby thought! Here is the cutest video of him walking to me with his grocery cart that Uncle Deagan gave him, as well as all by himself! See how far we have come in just a matter of one week! And I just found out today at daycare, that he is the first in his class to start walking! He better get used to being first in his class ;))

I'm a Little Teapot!

It has been a while since I have posted! We have been extra busy in the Foster house hold. We have had weddings, showers, parties and still have a couple of more before Christmas time! Spencer is doing great! He is pulling up on everything and letting go and stanging by himself for nearly 30 seconds. It will not be long before he is walking. He is finally getting more consistent with sleeping through the night, which makes both of us very happy! We celebrated Halloween by going to a Trunk or Treat at our church and Spencer loved sitting in the Trunk giving out candy! On October 31st, we went to Josh's ballgame, dressed up as a spider and he was so cute!

9 month checkup and Pray Request

We went in today for Spencer's 9 month appointment. Boy, we have a growing boy! He is 23.4 pounds, 28 inches long and his head is 18.75. Still, weight and head in the 90 percentile and height in the 50 percentile range. But he is growing steadily and the doctor said he looked great and very healthly. However, we did find out today that his iron is low. So, please keep him in your prayers! I am going to start giving him more meat which should help but it still wasn't something that I wanted to hear. I don't have any pictures and I know that is what most people look at but Spencer has had an ear infections for the past week and we have been fairly busy making sure he feels good. On a happier note, he is crawling around like crazy. We can't keep up with him. It is so amazing to see something we brought into this world, thrive like he is!

Beer Tasting!

This past weekend Josh, Amy, Corey, Deagan, Dana, one of Amy's friends and myself went to a beer tasting in Greensboro. They had more beers there than you can possible imagine(most of them really bad). The ones I liked the most were actually cidar made from Granny Smith apples. We had a really good time though. Spencer stayed the night with Rick and Elizabeth and they had a great time as well. It was only the third time we have left Spencer and of course I cried but it was a tiny easier at least(compared to the first and second time). Unfortuantly next weekend(September 5th-7th)I will be heading to Myrtle Beach for Becca's Bachlorette party. I will be without my man for basically three days ;(( I am going to go crazy!

New Business Venture!

As most of you know, I am now working a part time job so I can spend more time at home with Spencer. However, I have decided to try my hand in the sells world by selling JUICE PLUS! So, here's the nightmare I had last night:

I wake up and walk into Spencer's room to check on him and what do I see; I see my child with his diaper off poop all over him and his bed. Spencer has taken off his diaper to play with his poop, So I step out of the room to go get something to clean him up with and I come back and he is peeing all over himself. So I have this poopie,peeeeey baby to take care of and no husband to help me with it! I wake up from this " nightmare" only to realize that it was not a nightmare and Mr. Poop had actually done this and was having a great time at it!!

Happy Birthday Grannie!

Last Sunday we surprised Grannie by showing up for church! We actually pulled it off. It was awesome to see her face when she saw us sitting out there. We then went back to her house and had a great lunch. Grannie got to rock Spencer to sleep and then we all went outside for a photo shoot with Amy's really cool new camera. It was a very relaxing day. Spencer is starting to try and crawl which is really funny to watch. He gets about half way up and then rocks back and forth, like he is thinking really hard about what he needs to do next! He is also getting another took, one of his top ones. He is doing better teething with these than he did with his lower ones. We are getting geared up to go back to work, both of us are not looking forward to having to leave him. I took a part time job in Davie County, which means I will get to spend more time with him and we found a great Mother Morning Out Program at a church! We just have to meet his teachers. I was so hesitant about it at first but he will only be there three days and everyone keeps telling me that it will be really good for him to be around other babies. I will just keep telling myself that!

Our Summer Beach Trip!

We just got back from the beach a few days and we a wonderful time. We were gone for over three weeks and came back tan and tired. Spencer had a great time. We played on the beach and in the pool almost every day. Spencer's favorite activity was eating sand. We tried to stop him but it was no use. The first week we were done there my mom and Gary came and stayed with us. Spencer decided that week that he was going to get his first ear infection, so we ended up having to take him to the doctor and he did not sleep good at all that week. My mom loved showing him off at the beach and strolling him around in his new wagon. We had several people to ask us if he was the Gerber Baby!! We also had some professional pictures taken of the family one day. They turned out great and we started a new tradition. That weekend my dad and his girlfriend, Paula came up for a few days and Spencer got to play with them some at the beach. The next week it was just me, Josh, Spencer and Piper(our family time). We were so lazy and relaxed the whole time but Spencer was still not sleeping through the night. He would wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning and proceed to scream bloody murder. Josh and I got so frustrated. We couldn't figure out what was wrong with our little man. We had a good time other than that. We were glad when Rick and Elizabeth finally got to come down. Spencer was so glad to see them. We did the usual activities: Hamburger Joes, Myabis' and shopping at Tanger. Elizabeth loved rocking him in the glider and could get him to sleep so fast and Rick loved to take him for strolls. The boys played golf quite a few times, while the girl's and Spencer took naps and read. Finally, we had our girl's weekend,plus one little guy. It was so much fun to get to see Reagan, Jennifer and Shirely. She is growing up so fast and Spencer and her had a great time. It was a wonderful vacation but we were ready to get home, especially since Spencer didn't sleep through the night once the whole three weeks we were down there. Josh and I expected our first night back at hom to be awful but guess what!! He has slept through the night ever night since we have been back home. I guess he just wanted his bed!! I forgot to post Spencers' lastest measurements. He had his six month old appointment Monday. He weighted 20.2(90%), was 26 inches long(50%) and his head was 18.25 inches around(90%). The doctor was very pleased and said he was the " picture of health." We will be gone to the beach for three weeks, so it will be awile before I am able to post again but I will post beach photos as soon as we get home!

I kn0w these pictures are a little late but we have enjoyed our past week of not doing ANYTHING. Josh had a wonderful Father's Day. We spent time with all of the father's in our lives, starting with my Dad on Saturday night and then going to see Papa on Sunday morning. We then had Sunday lunch with Gary, Mom and Granddaddy and finished up the day seeing Rick, Elizabeth, Amy and Corey. It was very busy but a very special Father's Day for Josh.t a very special Father's Day for Josh.

My First Swim!!

Yesterday, Mommy and I went to see Granddaddy Ralph. He has just had surgery and we were hoping to cheer him up a little bit. Well, we had a great time. We tossed a basketball back and forth and then I got to go swimming for the first time. I loved it! It was in Granddaddy's Jacuzzi, so the water was nice and warm. I also got to be naked, which I love! I hope Mommy takes me back, so I can do it again! This past weekend, I got to spend some time with Grandmommy, Papal and Granddaddy Max. We also went to visit Papal's mom. It was nice seeing everyone and I love my brown hat!

It is so hard to believe that Reagan has turned one year old! It seems like just yesterday that Jennifer was bringing her home from the hospital and I was just a few months pregnant with Spencer. Boy, time sure does go by fast. Reagan had a wonderful birthday party yesterday and it was so good to see them. Spencer had a great time visiting with all the girls and Lawson(some of our friends babies) The funny thing is they are all a year old and he is not that much smaller than them. He is growing up so fast. He will be 6 months old on the 12th! We are looking forward to a great summer. Enjoy the pictures!

Filling in the Gaps!

So it has been a little while since I have been able to post pictures and an update on out Little Man. Spencer got dedicated at Enon last Sunday. It was wonderful even though he was very tired and fussy. All of our closest family and friends were there to celebrate in him being dedicated. Once school is out I am going to try and me more diligent about it. Spencer is doing so good. It is sleeping through the night nearly every night, from between 7:30-8:00pm until around 5:30-6:00am. It is wonderful and he is doing it without his pacifer, which is even better! It has been along time coming but definatly worth the wait. We have the best little bedtime routine that Josh and I look forward to every night. We take baths, put on lotion, read books and drink a bottle. Spencer loves Goodnight Moon. He is now eating prunes and he loves them! Josh is celebrating his birthday tomorrow and then next weekend is our Memorial Day party and Spencer's girlfriend Reagan turns 1!! What an exciting couple of weeks!

We had a wonderful weekend and I celebrated my first Mother's Day! I even won a flower at Boonville Baptist for being the youngest mother at church. We ate a wonderful lunch and then spent the afternoon with Josh's side of the family, including Grannie. We then headed over to my mom's house and ate dinner with Granddaddy, Mom and Virginia. It was a nice and relaxing day. Mom gave me a gift certificate for a massage, a mani and a pedi. Josh and Spencer gave me two dozen assorted roses. Here are just a few pics from this weekend and a couple from Corey's Birthday party. Oh, and just on a little side note, Spencer slept from 815 until 6!!

Here a just a few pictures of our little man!

We have started to give him cereal and he just loves it! However, most of it does end up on his face. He is so outgoing. Spencer loves to stick his tongue out at us and try to blow bubbles. He is also very close to rolling over and just needs a little push to get over. He can sit up by himself from anywhere between 5-10 seconds. He is also loving Piper and Piper seems to be starting to enjoy him more. We are very blessed with a healthy baby and a very loving one.

Josh and I got it in our head that it was time to take out Spencer's middle of the night feeding, as well as to make him sleep through the night in his crib! What were we thinking? Although both of us were worried about it, we decided the best method to use was to let him cry it out. We both knew that he wasnn't getting hungry but only wanted to nurse between 2-3 am because it was comforting to him. So here is what happened.

Friday, April 25th.

This was the first night we tried it and Spencer did great. He slept until four. I had decided that 5am was our magic number but because it was already 4 and it was the first time, I went ahead and fed him.

Saturday, April 26th

After just a promising first night, we were both looking forward to Saturday. Boy, were we wrong. Spencer woke up at 3am. We went in, changed his diaper and put his pacifer back in. This lasted about 5 minutes and he proceeded to cry for hours. During these two hours, I went downstairs, listened to music, went outside to try and get away from it, put pillows over my head, laid down in our bathroom and for the last 30 minutes I cried right along with him. Josh and I finally had enough and we ewnt into his nursery at 5:15 , gave him is pacifer, calmed him down and he finally fell asleep until 6:15. What a night.

Sunday, April 27th

Sunday was much better. He woke up at 2am and cried for 30 minutes. Josh went in, changed him and gave him it pacifer and Teddy and he slept until 4:30, in which I went ahead and fed him. Much better than Saturday

Monday, and Tuesday and Wednesday

These days were basically the same. He continued to wake up between 2 and 3 but after going into his room once he would go back to sleep until 4 or 430. So we were getting very close1

Thrusday night

He slept from 9pm-5am! I woke up at 430 and was scared to death. I ran in to check on him and he was snoozing away. When he woke up at five, I fed him, put him back in the crib and he continued to sleep until 6:30. It was wonderful and all three of us were in great moods on Friday.

And then there was last night.

We though we were over the worst of it. Of course, we didn't expect him to sleep through every night from here on out but we did expect for him to continue to ge better. Boy, were we wrong. Spencer woke up at 12:30 and proceeded to cry until 3:30. Josh and I did our best to let him cry it out. We changed him a couple of time and did the whole pacy and Teddy thing a couple of times. He had periods of small sleeping spells but mostly was awake. Finaly, at 3:30, when he woke up for the 5th time, I couldn't take it anymore. I went and got him and laid him in bed with us. He didn't eat, which is still a positive but he wasn't in his crib either. Oh well, I guess there will be set backs

Other than that, we are all doing great! Please pray for me as I have applied for a new job that will allow me to work out of my home next year and for Josh and I both as we finish up the last 6 weeks of our school years!

First Family Beach Trip
Spencer slept for three hours after getting back from beach! We went today for Spencer's four month checkup!! He did so great with the shots. We were so proud of him. His latest measurements include:

Weight- 17.3 pounds in the 95%

Height- 24 inches in the 25%

Head- 17 inces in the 90%

Dr. Rainey thought he was doing great! We asked if we should be concerned because he is kinda short but he said no, that when he starts moving around some of the weight will redistribute. We also asked him if we should start him on solid food and he basically said it was up to us. Thanx to Amy, I have tons of info on how to make your own baby food and I think we will do that but we haven't decided if we are going to start him on it or not. Obviously, he is doing very well on just breastmilk, so we might leave it alone for a couple more weeks! I have included some pictures from just about a little of everything. I know it has been a while since I have posted but I have been trying to enjoy my last few weeks as a stay at home mom. I have loved every minute of it and am not looking forward to having to leave Spencer in a few weeks. He is growing up so fast and is getting so chubby but we are totally in love with him. He is getting much better at sleeping at night. He usually only wakes up once during the night! He is growing into his own little personality and loves to gives lots of smiles and laughs especially first thing in the morning and when his grandparents are visiting. It melts our hearts every time he smiles at us. Mommy and Daddy seem to have the special touch these days, which I never quite understood until we had one of our own. Spencer loves to have be tickled, he loves his rattle and his sister, Piper. Piper is growing more affectionate with him every day and I can't wait until they can throw balls together. Spencer also loves the hair dryer and loves it when Daddy comes home. He follows Josh with his eyes every where he goes and does not take them off of him. He also loves bath tub(until we take him out). He is probably around 14 pounds now and is starting to get little rubber bands on his arms and legs and we just love to kiss the. Well, I have to go. It is Spencer's nap time(and maybe Mommy's too)!

Two Months Old!!

It is hard to believe that Spencer is already two months old. He has brought such joy to our lives that it is hard to imagine life before him(besides sleeping all night). We went yesterday for his check up and he weighed 12 pounds 13 ounces( 75%), was 22 inches long( about mid-range) and his head measured in the 90%! So, he is going to be very smart! He also did great with his shots! He wailed for about 15 seconds and then just stopped and looked at me, as if to say, "That was it." We were so proud of him! If that wasn't enough, last night we fed him at 10 and he went until 5:30 the next morning. He fussed a few times in the middle of the night but all he needed was a pat on his butt and a couple of rocks and he fell back to sleep. I don't really expect this to be a regular thing because we gave him Tylenol for his legs, but we will take what we can get. Our doctor told us that I needed to take away his 3am feeding and start trying to get him into his own room but it so hard. We tried last night and let him cry for about 9 minutes before we broke down and I went and got him. It wasn't just me either, Josh missed him in our bed as well. We will keep working at it though!

Things are going great at the Foster home the past few weeks. Spencer has started to wake up only once during the night around 3-4 and then again around 6-7, so Mommy is getitng more sleep. He still will not sleep by himself and we have tried putting him in his Pack N' Play but he just loves to cuddle so much. He is getting so big and it is hard to believe that next Wednesday he will be two months old. Piper is doing so good with him and has started to bring him her football, like he is supposed to throw it for her. It is the cutest thing to watch. Check back next week for his two month old check up results and also pray for us as he will be getting his shots!

It is hard to believe it but Spencer is already 5 weeks old and he is growing like a weed. We took him to the doctor a couple of weeks ago(he has colic) and he weighed a whopping 9 pounds and 12 ounces, so I am sure he is over 10 pounds now. He is so cute and we love having him in our family. He is starting to have his own little personality, when he isn't crying. He loves to be rocked and laying under his jungle gym. Spencer also loves when Josh sticks his tongue out at him and raises his eyebrows, he makes the cutest faces. Here are some recent pictures of him. I am sure you will be able to tell how much he has grown!

I am finally awake enough to post some pictures from the last week. We have been at home for two nights now and things seem to be going fairly well. He is eating much better and gaining weight. I am still very sore all over but every day gets a little bit better. We love having Spencer with us. It is amazing that you can love something so much that we have only had for 5 days! I hope everyone enjoys the pictures!

We Have Our Little Boy!!!

Little Spencer came very early Wednesday morning, December 12th and 2:32am. His Uncle Corey had been saying all along that that is when he would come! I started having contractions around 5:30am Tuesday morning and went to the hospital around four that afternoon. It was a very tough labor but it was well worth it. Spencer was 8 pounds and 20 inches,with blonde hair and blue eyes. But except for that he looks just like his Daddy. Josh was wonderful through the whole thing. It was the most amazing thing that either of us had ever experienced. We spend so much time just staring at him and being thankful for how lucky we are. We get to come home from the hospital tomorrow, so I will try to post some pictures in the next few days!

We are still waiting for Little Spencer. We went in to the doctor yesterday and we were both a little disappointed. Basically, they told us that 60% of women have their babies within a week of the due date. So therefore, with ours being MONDAY, we have to wait ;(( So hopefully,he will come this week because this mama don't think she can take much more! However, if we make it to next Friday, then they will check to see if I am dilated and if I am then they will talk about inducing me. However, if I am not dilated at all they will make me go another week. Although, I swear that if they tell me that I will throw something at them and start screaming. Let's all pray that Little Spencer is here before Mommy and Daddy lose their minds with apprehension. All the bags are packed and ready to go, we are just waiting for Little Man! He probably weights about 8- 81/2 pounds right now, which I think is plently big and healthy enough! Let's hope he is not a ten pounder like his daddy!

One More Baby Shower

A few weeks ago, Amy and some other friends and family members through Josh and I our last big baby shower. It was at her and Corey's house and it was so nice. It was great to get to visit with everyone and we got some great presents. Some of my favorites were a lamp and rug to match the baby's nursery, an ABC book that Amy made for us and some really cute Christmas outfits for little Spencer. After the shower, we all celebrate Phyllis birthday by eating at Bit Shotz and then going back to Amy and Coreys for cake and presents. It was a great way to finish up the a wonderful day!

As for a baby update:

We went back yesterday for our checkup. His heartbeat was 144. His head his down, his back is laying up against the right side of my belly and his butt is up at my chest. The doctor said everything was looking good and he was approximately 7 pounds, although I think they might be a littl off. The best part: over the past 2 weeks I have only gained 1 pound!!! Only two more weeks to go!

The past two weekends have been so busy. Last weekend , my home church ,First Baptist through us a baby shower at Donna Miller's house! My Aunt Rosy and Nana helped out with it. We got lots of great gifts including our Diaper Genie, a stoller and a bath for the baby! This past weekend, Jennifer and Shirley and my aunts threw us a baby shower at The Victoria House!! It was so beautiful and we got even more great gifts. The highlights were our swing from my aunts and uncles, a beautiful blue outfit with booties and a tobaggon from mom, a Carolina diaper bag, taggie blanket, monogramed bib and a Carolina burp cloth from Elizabeth and our Rainforest Bouncer from Jennifer and Shirley and a Carolina Windsuit outfit mongrammed with his name from Melissa Daub, to name a few. Another great part about the weekend is that Shirly, Jennifer and Reagan spent the whole weekend with us. Jennifer and Reagan stayed at our house and Reagan got to try out all of Spencers things! It was so nice to see a baby in it. Then Saturday night, Josh and I had everyone over for a cookout. In total there was around 15 people there. All the girls helped me get the nursery in order and the boys cooked! We are getting so excited to be just about a month away from little Spencers arrival! We start going to the doctor every week now, starting Friday. Check back then for an update!!!

Western Homecoming

A couple of weeks ago, Josh and I went up to Western for his homecoming. Let me tell you, it was crazy!! I can see why Josh had so much fun!! I got to meet most of his close fraternity brothers and also got the tour of Western. It included Deagan and his old apartment, as well as the fraternity house. We hung out at the cabin(on the very top of mountain, in Pagan country) on Friday night and then on Saturday, we went tailgaiting at the game and then headed to the frat house. Josh had alot of fun and he was very excited to see everyone again. I then had to drive home at 9 at night(we didn'get home until around 12) to go to a baby shower on Sunday. We were exhausted but we had a great time!! It is probably the last time Josh will get to see all of his friends before Baby Spencer gets here. I have been promising for sometime now to put up some nursery pictures. The nursery is nearly complete, we just have a few last minute details to add. Josh and I love just to look at it. It is hard to imagine that in just a few weeks, Baby Spencer will be using that room!! Although I hate looking at my pregger shots right now, I figured I would post some more recent ones of my growing belly. We had a doctor's appointment yesterday(we are know going every 2 weeks) and my belly measurement was 30 inces, Spencer's heartbeat was 134 and they told us that he is head down and that is butt is on the right side of my belly. I have been getting a lot of kicks and rolls on that side, so I guess it is my babies butt!! He weighs nearly 3 pounds as well.

This past weekend we celebrated Rick's birthday with Grannie and then we all went to the fair. I couldn't ride any rides, which meant Josh didn't ride but a couple either. However, we ate lots of great food inlcuding a funnel cake and a turkey leg. HMMMMMM!! We did get to ride the farris wheel and it was alot of fun. We also saw the pigs race and a swimming pig. They were very cute and it made me want one. Overall it was a great weekend. Tiring but fun!!!

Friday afternoon, my cheerleaders through me a SURPRISE baby shower. However, the hostess at Olive Garden ruined it for me and them but we still had a great time. Baby Spencer got so many cute outfits, bibs, blankets, toys and books, as well as his Pack n' Play. The girls informed me that it would be great to take to competitions when he goes with us. It made me realize just how lucky I am to have such great friends and family. All my cheerleaders also informed me that they would be at the hospital the day Spencer was born. I told them we could talk about that later!! HaHa! I love you all, girls!!

A few weeks ago, Mom and I met Shirley, Jennifer, Reagan, Summer and Carol in Greensboro for a yummy dinner at Olive Garden, our favorite place to eat. It was great to check up on everyone and to see little Reagan. She is getting so big and as you can tell from the pictures, so am I. It is very exciting to think that Reagan is going to have a little boyfriend in just a few weeks, 11 to be exact!!! We are doing great and are very ready. The nursery is good to go and now we are just waiting for little Spencer. I will post pictures of the nursery as soon as we get our window valence up!!

We Have Furniture!!

Our baby furniture came in Friday and Josh and I were so excited that we cancelled our trip to the mountains and invited his family over to help him move everything upstairs and to assembly the crib. Well, we couldn't put the crib together because we were missing a piece but Corey, Josh and Rick did get the dresser and the changing table and hutch in place. We love the furnture and having it in Spencer's room means he is that much closer to being here. We start school tomorrow and football season has been going for two weeks now. It is very tiring but we are counting down the weeks now to 0, instead of counting up to 40!! Here a few pictures of the nusery project yesterday. I am going to save complete pictures until we get the crib assembled and the bedding in it!! Hope everyone has a great week!!

Week 24

Today we had our third and last sonogram. Mom, Dad, Elizabeth and Rick went with us to see their little grandson. However, he didn't look so little to me. His head already looks soooo big and it is starting to scare me. He had his hands right up at his face and kept opening his mouth up, as if to tell us "HI! Mom and Dad" After the sonogram, we had our 6th month checkpoint. To this date, I have gained around 14 pounds. It is really hard to believe but luckily it is all in my belly.However, Spencer is laying on the right side of my belly, which makes me look a little lopsided :)) Spencer's heartbeat was 136 and he weighed 1 pound and 8 ounces. Birthdays!!!

This past weekend we celebrated by Granddaddys and Gary's birthday's. Mom had a party at her house with about 12-15 people. It was alot fun , although a little hard to keep from telling Granddaddy whether we are having a boy or a girl(he doesn't want to know). Josh cooked some great cheeseburgers and hotdogs and we sat around and watched TV and talked for about 4 hours. It was nice to see everyone and just relax. Piper and Pogo also had a great time. We finally ordered our baby furniture today, so hopefully I will have pictures of that up in about a month!!!!!

This past weekend, Mom and I went to Myrtle Beach to for our annual girl's weekend with Jennifer and Shirley. This year was very special because we had a new addition, Reagan. We had a wonderful time and the weather was perfect. Here are just a few pictures of our weekend. Reagan is so good and so sweet. We went shopping alot and we actually bought Reagan and Spencer(Yes, we decided on a name) a coordinating outfit to wear next summer for our girl's weekend. Although, next year we will have a little boy!!

Here are some more pictures taken at our last ultrasound!!! At our 5 month appointment yesterday, I had gained 7 pounds! In 1 month!! I guess all the complaining I did about not gaining any weight in the first 4 months caught up with me! That makes me at a grand total of 9 pounds! I definatly have a little , well more like medium pooch now and I am feeling our little boy kick every day. Sometimes he is more active than others but usually every morning I can feel him and then every time after I eat! He is being very shy for his daddy though because every time Josh puts his hands on my belly to feel him kick, he stops!! We are halfway there and are getting very excited. We got the nursery painted yesterday and I will post some pictures as soon as we put up the chair railing!!

Anniversary Beach Trip

This past weekend Josh and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. We went to the beach with Piper and relaxed. We went shopping for baby clothes, went to the beach and were lazy. The highlight of the trip was eating at the Melting Pot on Sunday night. It was so yummy!! We have had a wonderful year together and it has gone by so fast that it is hard to believe. We are very excited for the changes that will be taken place in our lives over the next few months.

This past weekend Josh, Piper and myself went to the beach with Mom, Gary and Pogo. We had a great time. I didn't take that many pictures but I am posting a few that we did take. The dogs had a great time in the ocean and we had a great time laying out and going shopping!!

Foster Beach Trip

After a quick stop at the doctors on June 29th, Josh and I headed to the beach for a week of rest and relaxation. For a baby update, as of June 29th, I have gained only 2 pounds!! The baby's heartbeat was 144 and the doctor said we were dong great! Next Monday, we will know whether it is a boy or a girl and then we can start decorating.

We had a wonderful time at the beach. Both Josh and I got great suntans, even though we got burnt on the first day. The boys played golf three times that week and Elizabeth and I and then Amy went shopping! We also went shagging one night with Mickey and Sondra at Fat Harolds and had a great time there. We were really sad to have to come home but out hairy baby(Piper) really seemed to miss us!!

I know it's been a while since I have posted but I have had to finsih up my summer class and that taken up alot of my time. I wanted to wait until have the doctor's appointment but since we will be leaving immediatly for the beach, I won't get a chance too. Josh, Piper and I have really enjoyed being off this summer. We have gotten to spend alot of time together and that has been great! The world of being pregnant hasn't been all that bad. As you can see from the pictures, I am definatly showing now and can no longer where my normal jeans. That was a sad, sad day at our house! We only have about 2 more weeks(July 16th) before we find out what we are having. Just in time for our anniversary!!! I finally got up the courage to post pictures that we have been taking week to week of my belly. We started at week 6, because that was when we found out. We always take them on Sunday, right before we go to bed! I picked out one at 6 weeks, 10 weeks and now at wekk 13. I have noticed a difference in my belly this week(Week 14), although I have only seemed to gain a pound(clothes fit like 10 pounds). I will post Week 14-15 in a few weeks! Josh is getting excited because he can finally tell that something is going on in my belly!!

Welcome to the Foster's Blog!! I vowed to myself that over summer I would get one up and running so everyone could keep track of "Baby Foster," as well as Josh, Piper and myself. We only have 2 more days of school left and we are both very excited. We went to the doctor's for our 4 month check up on Monday. I had only gained 1 pound according to their scales, which made me extremely happy. We also got to hear the babies heart beat. It took about 2 minutes and they seemed to last forever but finally we heard it, just pumping way. The nurse calculated it at 160 beats per minute( which means we are having a girl) and it was very strong. We go back in 4 weeks for another checkup and then on July 16, we can find out whether we are having a girl or a boy.

Piper is doing good. I will try to have some recent pictures up in the next week( as soon as school gets out). She is very spoiled and we are a little worried about what will happen when the baby comes but we will see!!
